- The deputy General-secretary of Health ministry, Dr Ghazi Sharkas, said that the new variant of coronavirus appeared in September, indicating that it is dangerous in terms of the epidemiological situation in Jordan.


The dangerous effects of the new variant of coronavirus is still unknown, however it is known for the faster spreading among citizens and we have to try hard to avoid it in Jordan, he said.


Jordan is counting the passengers who came from the United Kingdom to figure out whether the new variant of coronavirus exists in Jordan or not, he added.
