PM meets with Egyptian, Georgian counterparts

AMMAN — Prime Minister Hani Mulki on Saturday met with several heads of delegations participating in the World Economic Forum held at the Dead Sea, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
 
Mulki met with his Egyptian counterpart Sharif Ismail and discussed bilateral relations.
 
During the meeting, Mulki and Ismail stressed the importance of boosting cooperation in all fields, highlighting the Jordanian-Egyptian higher committee meeting slated for July as a "milestone" in the history of the two countries' ties.
 
The two premiers also discussed the issue of Egyptian labour in Jordan, as well as cooperation in the fields of energy and transport.
 
Also on Saturday, Mulki met the Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and went over ties, cooperation, especially in economy and investment, and the fight against terrorism.
 
During the meeting, Mulki said that trade between Jordan and Georgia still stands at "modest" levels, expressing keenness on boosting trade exchange and investment opportunities.
 
For his part, Kvirikashvili commended the role of Jordan as a stabilising influence in the Middle East, stressing the opportunity to boost cooperation and benefit from the free trade agreements that connect Jordan and Georgia with several other countries.
 
After the meeting, Mulki and Kvirikashvili attended the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement in the field of tourism.
 
Under the agreement, the two countries will work on promoting bilateral tourism and direct flights to increase the numbers of tourists.
 
The premier also met with Fahd Al Rasheed, CEO of King Abdullah Economic City, Alain Pilloux, vice president of European Reconstruction and Development Bank (EBRD), and Cisco West Asia Managing Director Ziad Salameh.
