AMMAN — The Cabinet on Wednesday approved a new by-law for the appointment of senior officials, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Under the by-law, which seeks more transparency and equality in appointment opportunities, individual officials will not be able to appoint directly but rather by nominating candidates and refer their names to a concerned committee, which for its part will refer them to the Council of Ministers.
According to the by-law, public officials and the Civil Service Bureau can nominate nine candidates, who would qualify for each available post, Petra said.
