MPs leave Parliamentary session held to discuss signing of DOI

Roya News

The Parliament held a session Wednesday to discuss the “Declaration of Intent” that the government signed with the Israeli Occupation and the UAE.

The session witnessed the withdrawal of a large number of MPs in rejection to the government’s signing of the DOI. This led to a lack of quorum, and the session adjourned for half an hour, to be resumed later.

The MPs rejected the decision of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lawyer Abdel Karim Al-Daghmi, to postpone the discussion of the agreement to a date to be determined later, after it was put to vote, especially since the issue is very important and must be discussed under the dome.

Earlier Wednesday, a number of citizens organized a protest in front of the House of Representatives in Amman, to demand the dropping of the gas agreement and the abolition of the "Declaration of Intent" signed with the Israeli Occupation.

Nov. 22, a Declaration of Intent (DOI) was signed between Jordan, the UAE and the Israeli Occupation.
