Talks also focused on the military achievements of the Iraqi government in its war against Daesh, as well as efforts exerted towards achieving national reconciliation that includes all components of the Iraqi people.

The two leaders highlighted the importance of intensifying regional and international cooperation in the fight against terrorism, stressing the need for continuous coordination and consultation among all stakeholders within a holistic strategy.

Senior officials from both countries attended the talks.

Massoum met later with Senate President Faisal Al Fayez, who reiterated Jordan’s solidarity with Iraq as it fights terrorists.

Also on Thursday, King Abdullah and President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region Masoud Barzani highlighted the historical Jordanian-Iraqi ties and expressed keenness on developing them in a way that serves mutual interests.

His Majesty and Barzani, who is also scheduled to participate in WEF, went over means to increase cooperation between Jordan and Kurdistan, especially in the economic and investment fields, according to the Royal Court.
