AMMAN — Members of the Lower House's Foreign Affairs Committee on Wednesday held a meeting with Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, where they discussed a number of issues.
The head of the committee, MP Nidal Taani, voiced the Lower House's appreciation for the government's decision to upgrade diplomatic ties with Qatar, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Safadi briefed the committee members on the latest regional developments, explaining that Jordan is dealing with all regional issues based on its national constants and unaltered stances, according to Petra.
Reemphasising the centrality of the Palestinian cause, Safadi reiterated Jordan's support to Palestinians' legitimate rights to freedoms and to an independent state on the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, Petra reported.
