AMMAN — Supporting cultural and creative industries and building up the capabilities of employees are the core work of the Ministry of Culture, Minister Bassem Tweissi said on Wednesday.

 

During a meeting with French Ambassador to Jordan Véronique Vouland, Tweissi highlighted the importance of developing cooperation between Jordan and France in the cultural field. Both sides agreed on translating several books by Jordanian writers into French to acquaint French speakers with Jordanian culture, according to a ministry statement.

 

For her part, Vouland highlighted the "good relations" between Amman and Paris, referring to cooperation in several cultural fields, such as translation, cinema and libraries, noting that the French are "eager" to know more about the Jordanian culture.
