Standard & Poor’s keeps Jordan’s credit rating unchanged

Petra

Amman -Standard & Poor’s (S&P) has affirmed its B+ credit rating to Jordan, noting that Jordan’s outlook remained stable due to the government's ability to stabilize the debt position and continue economic and financial reforms.

Minister of Finance Ezzeddin Kanakrieh said that confidence of international institutions in Jordan's economy despite the challenges facing it, is attributed to a number of factors including the government's ability to contain financial deficit and maintain a stable debt rate despite low economic growth.

He said Jordan's efforts led by His Majesty King Abdullah II to attract investments, aid and grants as well as the King's support to reform programs carried out by the government, contributed to reaffirming Jordan’s rating as stable .
