Crown Prince commends Kingdom’s, citizens’ efforts in fight against coronavirus

The Jordan Times

AMMAN — HRH Crown Prince Hussein on Saturday took to Instagram to post a video reassuring citizens and affirming his pride in the Jordanian people and his appreciation for the Kingdom’s efforts in the face of the COVID-19 crisis.

The Crown Prince noted that the whole world is currently going through a difficult time, adding that all countries are being tested and major countries are in a state of alert.

However, Jordan, with its limited resources, has displayed a great example through the wise leadership and swift decision-making of His Majesty King Abdullah, who has prioritised citizens’ health above all else, he stressed.

“As always, we are all hand-in-hand — the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, tireless medical staff, security entities, institutions that work day and night to serve the nation and a loyal and supportive private sector,” the Crown Prince said.

“Using our capabilities, we have utilised the best hotels for quarantine and, in record time, activated remote-learning to guarantee the future of young generations,” he added.

“I am so proud to be Jordanian, because in such difficult times, courage and generosity are shown,” the Crown Prince asserted.

He continued: “Last week, I witnessed stories that evoke pride: A whole society working together for the greater good; people donating their own money; real estate owners exempting their renters from paying; doctors providing treatment for the needy in their homes. This shows unparalleled social cooperation.”

“They say Jordan is a small country, but I say it is a big Kingdom with great people,” the Crown Prince added.

The Crown Prince thanked everyone, affirming that all must remain aware during crises and that there are no perfect conditions, so “we are counting on” the patience and commitment of Jordan’s citizens and institutions.

“Today, we have a chance to be among the first countries to overcome the crisis safely, so we have to persevere not just for our own safety, but for that of our families,” he stressed, adding: “We need to be patient for those who fight this battle while we stay at home.”

“May God protect this country, and heal the ill. As His Majesty said: Raise your head, you are Jordanian,” the Crown Prince concluded.
