AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday received a phone call from US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley, which covered means to develop the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States, especially in security and defense, according to a Royal Court statement. 

 

King Abdullah reaffirmed Jordan’s rejection of Israeli escalations in Jerusalem, calling for an immediate halt to Israeli violations and illegitimate measures, and their dangerous consequences for the security and stability of the region, as they contravene international law and human rights.

 

Discussions also covered efforts to counter terrorism, extremism, and hate speech, and the importance of maintaining coordination in this regard, as well as building on the progress made in the fight against terrorism and Daesh in the region.
