Amman-The Kingdom is affected on Saturday, by a cold and humid air mass, and mercury is forecast to drop substantially, to record levels lower than their normal average by about 7-8 Celsius degrees, Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.
Showers are expected in the northern and central regions and limited southwestern areas, as the Kingdom's north during the night will see light hail, and the winds are westerly active, accompanied by strong gusts of up to 60 km / hour in some areas, the JMD noted.
In its report, the JMD warns of the danger of low visibility due to dust, especially in the Badia regions, the danger of slippery roads, and the frost formation in the late evening hours and the dawn time in the southern Sharah mountains.
On Sunday, a slight rise in temperature will occur, and the weather will be cold and partly cloudy, with a chance during the morning hours for light and scattered showers of rain in the Kingdom's northern regions, the JMD said.
Also today, mercury will hover around 13C in Amman, dropping to 5 C during night hours, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a fair 23C, dipping to 12C during night.
