Jordan to switch to wintertime Friday

The Jordan Times

AMMAN — Jordan will set clocks back by one hour on October 26, in preparation for winter, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Clocks are to be set back by 60 minutes as of 1am on October 26, bringing the Kingdom two hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.

Under a Cabinet decision taken in December 2013, clocks are set back to mark the start of winter on the last Friday of October every year, while they will be set forward one hour on the last Thursday of March every year to mark the start of summer, which is applied to utilise the longer daylight hours to save energy.
