King chairs National Policies Council meeting

Amman- His Majesty King Abdullah II said we will hold whoever dared to tamper with the security of Jordan and the safety of its citizens accountable, adding we will fight the Kharijites without any mercy and with force and firmness.
 
The King's remarks came during his chairmanship of a National Policies Council (NPC) meeting, in presence of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, at the Husseiniya Palace on Sunday to follow up on the terrorist attack, which targeted a joint patrol of the gendarmerie and public security forces in the Fuheis region and the raid on the responsible terrorist cell in Salt city, that resulted in the martyrdom of a number of security services personnel.
 
His Majesty expressed his condolences to the Jordanian family for the martyrs of the duty, and said: "We condole ourselves and the families of the martyrs and all our people. We ask Allah the Almighty to confer upon the injured speedy recovery."
 
During the meeting, which was also attended by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein, Advisor to His Majesty and Chairman of the National Policies Council, and Prince Rashed bin Al Hassan, His Majesty affirmed that Jordan will remain immune to terrorism and terrorists by the unity of Jordanians and the vigilance of the armed forces and the security departments.
 
His Majesty said this cowardly act of terrorism and any act targeting the security of Jordan will only increase unity, strength and determination to eradicate terrorism and its criminal gangs.
 
"Jordanians are stronger when they face such events, and they are more enthusiastic to clean our country and the region of this phenomenon and protect our religion from these Kharijis," the King said.
 
"This cowardly criminal act always reminds us that our country is targeted by members of dark ideologies who want evil against us all. Our goal is always to break the backbone of terrorism and we will not relinquish this goal despite the sacrifices," the King affirmed.
 
His Majesty said: "we must all stand against the dark thought, and there is no place to hesitate in fighting the scourge of terrorism, because it affects our present and future."
 
"Our strong national front and the awareness of our people, who reject this dark, alien thought to our religion, is the source of our strength and what distinguishes our homeland. The courage of the Jordanians and their keenness for the security of their homeland is a source of pride," His Majesty reiterated.
 
His Majesty paid tribute to the martyrs, who gave their lives to the homeland, and said those martyrs joined the groups of martyrs of duty, whose sacrifices and heroism constitute the noblest embodiments of honor, which is a source of pride of all Jordanians.
 
His Majesty also extended his greetings to the sons and daughters of the Jordanian people for their continuous support for the personnel of the armed forces and the security departments, who sacrifice their lives to protect the Jordanian citizens.
 
"The martyrs have made sacrifices, but in the end the lives of the Jordanians are their priority," the King said.
 
His Majesty voiced great pride in the Jordanian Armed Forces, the Arab Army and the security departments, whose dignity and morale will always remain high, and praised the stances of citizens, media institutions and journalists with recent events.
 
The Prime Minister, Chief of the Royal Court, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Director of the General Intelligence, Advisor to His Majesty, the Director of the King's Office, the King's Advisor for Tribal Affairs, the King's Advisor for Economic Affairs, the Minister for Foreign and Expatriate Affairs, Minister of State for Media Affairs, Minister of Interior, and directors of public security department, gendarmerie and civil defense, attended the meeting.
