AMMAN — The government will not resort to reimposing a comprehensive curfew that requires full commitment from the public to health and safety measures in the current phase amid a surge in the number of local infections, Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Omar Razzaz said on Wednesday.
During a phone call with Al Wakeel programme on Radio Hala, Razzaz said that the government rejects the concept of "herd immunity" in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The premier noted that the Kingdom's exports, mainly in the industrial and pharmaceutical sectors, have increased over the past few months. However, the PM predicted a rise in the unemployment rate.
