Royal Decrees appoint Hassan as director of the Office of His Majesty, accept resignations of Khraisha, Nasser and Toukan

AMMAN — A Royal Decree has been issued, appointing Jafar Hassan as Director of the Office of His Majesty, as of May 6, 2021.
 
Hassan is the President of the Politics and Society Institute. He served for almost 30 years in government. His last position was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Economic Affairs (2018).
 
Hassan served as Chief of Staff for His Majesty King Abdullah (November 2014- February 2018), as well as Minister of Planning and International Cooperation from December 2009-April 2013, in the consecutive Governments of Samir Rifai, Marouf Bakhit, Aoun Khasawneh, Fayez Tarawneh and Abdallah Nsour.
 
He began his career in Jordan’s Foreign Service in 1991 serving in Jordan’s mission to the European Headquarters, as well as Jordan’s Embassy in Washington DC.
 
Hassan also served intermittently in several positions in the Royal Hashemite Court during the period 1993-2009.
 
Hassan is an alumnus of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland (PhD, DES), Harvard University / Kennedy School of Government (MPA), Boston University (MA), American University in Paris (BA) and Harvard Business School (Senior Executive Programme).
 
Another Royal Decree was issued, accepting the resignation of Haifa Khraisha from her position as Adviser to His Majesty for Policies, as of May 6, 2021.
 
A third Royal Decree was issued, accepting the resignation of Kemal Al Nasser from his position as Adviser to His Majesty, as of May 6 2021.
 
A fourth Royal Decree was issued, accepting the resignation of Zeina Toukan from her position as Adviser for Economic Affairs at the Royal Hashemite Court, as of May 6 2021, according to a Royal Court statement.
