Jordan records 5,039 new COVID-19 cases, positivity rate stands at 13.02%

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 5,039 new COVID-19 cases and 18 new deaths on Monday, bringing the total death toll to 13,004 and the total number of cases to 1,106,006.
 
 
The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 2,946 cases, while Zarqa recorded 676 cases. Irbid registered 432 cases, Balqa 392 cases, Karak recorded 73 cases, Jerash recorded 104 cases, and Tafileh recorded 0 cases. Madaba registered 130 cases, Aqaba 40 , Ramtha 44, and Ajloun 49.
 
The ministry said in a statement that 84 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 100 new patients were admitted.
 
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 30,419 according to the ministry. Out of 38,692 COVID-19 tests conducted Monday, 13.02 percent of them came back positive.
