AMMAN — The director general of the private education department at the Ministry of Education, Intisar Adwan, has recently denounced some private schools for allegedly refusing to deliver students’ books and test results after they failed to pay their full tuition.

 

Adwan denounced the schools’ acts, which violate the ministry’s by-law, pointing out that schools do not have the right to prevent students from receiving their books and results, even if they have not paid all of their tuition fees, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Wednesday.

 

Adwan issued instructions for all schools to deliver books and results to students, regardless of due payments, to allow students to resume their education. She called on the schools to abide by the ministry’s instructions, which have been circulated among private schools.

 

She added that the ministry values the role of schools who abide by the by-law, where students are considered a top priority despite financial issues, adding that the ministry would take legal measures against schools that do not abide by the instructions.

 

Adwan called on affected students to submit their complaints regarding the problem, adding that private schools are important to the education system in the Kingdom and have achieved high levels of quality and commitment.

 

She added that there are 36,789 students studying at 1,452 private schools in the Kingdom.
