Jordan condemns mosque attack in Nigeria

The Jordan Times

AMMAN — Jordan on Tuesday strongly condemned the bombing that targeted a mosque in the southeastern Nigerian city of Mubi earlier in the day, killing and injuring dozens.

Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani expressed Jordan’s condemnation of the criminal attack that targeted innocent worshipers during the dawn prayer, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Momani, who is also the government spokesperson, said that attacking places of worship is proof of the “delusion and criminality of terrorist groups that target humanity and religious values”.

He reiterated Jordan’s solidarity with the Nigerian government in its fight against terrorist and criminal groups, expressing condolences to the families of the victims and wishing the injured a speedy recovery. At least 50 people were killed in the suicide bombing.
