Approximately 70,000 worshipers performed the first Friday prayers for the holy month of Ramadan this year at al-Aqsa Mosque.

 

 

Since the early morning hours, Palestinians from the West Bank gathered at military checkpoints to enter Jerusalem and perform the Friday Prayer. According to the Palestinian News Agency (Wafa), many were prevented from entering.

 

Sheikh Ekrima Sabri condemned the Israeli Occupation's measures implemented in Jerusalem. According to Wafa, he said the presence of the Palestinian people in al-Aqsa is a message that 'they will fail to Judaize it'.
