AMMAN — Jordan and Germany have agreed to build on their partnership in the energy sector through moving from the dialogue phase to putting executive plans to enhance technology transfer and conducting initial feasibility studies for electricity trade, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported on Saturday.

These agreements were reached after Energy Minister Saleh Kharabsheh participated in the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue 2018, where he met German officials on the sidelines of the event, which concluded on Wednesday.

Kharabsheh said that he discussed with German officials means to embark on executive procedures for the memorandum of understanding that both sides signed during His Majesty King Abdullah’s visit to Germany in 2016.

In his speech at the conference, the minister said that Jordan was among the first countries to adopt energy transition when it reconstructed the energy sector in 1996. The three-day event also included a film on the Kingdom’s industry and investment environment.
