Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi said Jordan focused this week, in coordination with its Arab partners and allies, on the humanitarian situation in Gaza and on pressing for practical steps to alleviate the suffering of the territory’s residents.

 

 

In an interview with Sky News Arabia, Safadi said that all parties supported U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to achieve a solution in Gaza and move toward stability, stressing that there is no alternative to the plan for achieving security and stability in the territory and ending the crisis and humanitarian catastrophe there.

 

The Trump plan includes ending the war in Gaza, the phased withdrawal of Israeli forces, the release of hostages and prisoners, the delivery of humanitarian aid, and the rehabilitation of infrastructure in the territory.

 

It also calls for establishing a temporary transitional administration in Gaza, creating an international stabilization force, disarming factions, rebuilding the territory and developing an economic development plan.

 

The plan stipulates that Israel would not occupy or annex Gaza, with its forces withdrawing gradually according to criteria and a timetable linked to the disarmament process, while a temporary security perimeter would remain until the territory is deemed free of any threat.

 

The plan also includes launching a political pathway toward Palestinian self-determination and statehood, alongside a reform program for the Palestinian Authority and dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians aimed at establishing a political horizon for peaceful coexistence.
