AMMAN — Jordan on Monday extended condolences and expressions of solidarity to the governments and peoples of Korea, Vietnam, and Bangladesh following a series of tragic incidents that resulted in significant loss of life.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry voiced its sympathy to Korea over deadly floods caused by heavy rainfall, which led to multiple deaths, a number of missing persons, and the evacuation of thousands.
Sufian Qudah, the ministry's spokesperson, conveyed Jordan’s condolences to the families of the victims and expressed hope for the safe recovery of those still missing.
He confirmed that all Jordanian citizens in Korea are safe and unharmed, and urged those in flood-affected areas to exercise caution and follow safety instructions issued by local authorities.
The ministry also expressed condolences to Vietnam following the sinking of a boat due to severe weather conditions.
The incident left dozens dead, injured, or missing, a ministry statement read.
Qudah reiterated Jordan’s solidarity with the Vietnamese people, extending sympathy to the victims’ families and wishing a swift recovery for the injured.
In a separate statement, the ministry extended condolences to Bangladesh after a Bangladeshi Air Force training aircraft crashed within a university campus in the capital, Dhaka, resulting in numerous casualties.
Qudah expressed Jordan’s support during this difficult time.
