AMMAN — The Jordan Press Association (JPA) on Saturday praised Jordan’s position, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, in breaking the siege on the Gaza Strip.

 

The JPA also commended the Kingdom’s role in providing all forms of humanitarian, medical, and relief aid to the besieged Strip, stemming from its pan-Arab responsibility and moral obligation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

 

The JPA council stressed that Jordanian aid continues to reach the people of Gaza despite the complexities, obstacles, and restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation, which aims to starve civilians, and obstruct the delivery of humanitarian and medical assistance in a blatant violation of international and humanitarian laws.

 

The council stressed that Jordan’s political and diplomatic efforts in international forums have never stopped in the pursuit of alleviating the suffering of Gazans and defending the rights of the Palestinian people.

 

The JPA rejected any attempts to question Jordan’s stance or its commitment, expressing full support for all legal measures taken by the Jordanian state to safeguard national stability and reputation, and to confront any attempts to undermine its principled position on Palestine.

 

The council also warned against certain individuals and entities that use social media platforms to spread misleading content that tarnishes the image of Jordan and its positions.

 

It noted that the JPA’s Committee for the Protection of the Profession has been tasked with monitoring such cases in preparation for referring them to the legal unit within the association, and subsequently to the Public Prosecutor, to ensure accountability for anyone violating the law or breaching professional standards.
