In a historic announcement on Thursday, US President Donald Trump declared the end of the two-year aggression in Gaza, describing the peace achieved as “lasting and sustainable.”
Speaking to reporters, Trump repeatedly stated, “We have ended the war in Gaza,” emphasizing that intensive diplomatic efforts led by his administration had successfully brought the aggression to a close. He highlighted that all regional countries were in agreement on the need for peace.
Captive Release Scheduled
Trump outlined a timeline for the release of hostages, saying that the process would begin on Monday or Tuesday. His announcement followed the signing of the first phase of the US-brokered peace plan by ‘Israel’ and Hamas earlier Thursday.
Broad International and Regional Support
The ceasefire agreement received widespread regional and international acclaim. Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the Palestinian Authority all praised Trump’s efforts. European leaders also welcomed the initiative, calling it a critical step toward ending humanitarian suffering in Gaza.
The announcement marks a major diplomatic achievement for Trump, concluding a war that had lasted for two years and caused severe humanitarian and political challenges across the region.
