AMMAN — The Mexican embassy and the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts on Wednesday at Wasl Gallery opened the exhibition “The Space Between,” by Mexican photographer Maria Tielve.
The event brought together guests from the diplomatic corps, cultural, and academic circles, as well as members of the public interested in art, culture, and photography, according to an embassy statement.
Attendees were invited to embark on a “poetic visual” journey through works that explore stillness, movement, and the intangible threads of human connection.
Tielve has been exploring new personal and emotional frontiers since moving to Palestine, “a place that captivated her with its nobility, resilience, and unbreakable faith.”
Later, the artist moved to Jordan, “a country whose culture, art, and people she deeply fell in love with.”
Using long exposure and abstract photography techniques, Tielve captured the ephemeral and the intimate, encouraging reflection on the unseen spaces that shape her emotional and symbolic landscapes.
This exhibition is part of the embassy’s cultural programme marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mexico and Jordan.
It is aimed at highlighting the connection that exists between the peoples of the two countries: it showcases the work of a Mexican artist based in Amman whose work emphasises her love for a place that she now calls home.
"The Space Between" will remain open to the public until July 3, the statement said.
