AMMAN — The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Jordan Tourism Board, in cooperation with tourism associations, on Sunday launched the integrated digital platform "Ahlan Jordan".

 

Head of the Jordan Society of Tourism and Travel Agents Mahmoud Khasawneh told Al Mamlaka TV that this initiative aims to support the tourism sector and mitigate the impact of regional challenges on travel.

 

The platform operates in Arabic and English, serving as a unified window for visitors to plan and book trips.

 

It provides various travel programmes ranging from three to eight days, with prices starting from $180 per person, as packages cover hotel accommodation, transport, tour guide services, and entry tickets to several archaeological sites.

 

To boost hotel occupancy, all promotional packages require an overnight stay in Petra, which has been significantly affected by the recent decline in tourism.

 

The platform aims to stimulate economic activity in the ancient city while encouraging visitors to explore other destinations across the Kingdom.

 

In its first phase, "Ahlan Jordan" targets visitors from Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

 

Future expansions will target new international markets, particularly African nations, to diversify source markets and ensure sustainable growth.

 

The launch was initially planned for April but was rescheduled to July to ensure full technical readiness for multiple markets.

 

Tourism officials highlighted that the platform leverages digital solutions to maintain Jordan's competitiveness as a safe, welcoming, and accessible destination.

 

The initiative follows a strong performance in 2025, during which Jordan welcomed 7.04 million visitors and generated JD5.523 billion in tourism revenue, marking a 7.6 per cent increase.
