The Kingdom will be affected, starting from the early hours of Sunday morning, by a shallow low-pressure system accompanied by a cold and moist air mass, leading to a drop in temperatures. The weather will be cold and partly to mostly cloudy, with intermittent rainfall in the northern regions, gradually extending to central and eastern areas, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.
Maximum and minimum temperatures today are expected to range between 11°C and 2°C in eastern Amman, 9°C and 0°C in western Amman, 9°C and 0°C in the northern highlands, 8°C and -1°C in the Sharah Highlands, 13°C and 1°C in the Badia regions, 12°C and 2°C in the plains, 17°C and 5°C in the northern Jordan Valley, 20°C and 9°C in the southern Jordan Valley, 19°C and 8°C at the Dead Sea, and 20°C and 10°C in the Gulf of Aqaba.
The Department added that rainfall may at times be heavy over short periods in limited parts of the northern regions and the northeastern Badia, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms and occasional hail. During the evening hours, light rain is also expected in parts of the southwestern regions. Winds will be westerly and moderate in speed, becoming active at times.
The Meteorological Department warned of the possibility of flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas in limited parts of the northern regions and the northeastern Badia during the daytime, reduced horizontal visibility in the morning hours due to fog over high mountainous areas and some Badia and plain regions, and slippery roads in areas experiencing rainfall.
On Monday, the weather will remain cold and partly to occasionally cloudy, with a chance of light rain during the morning hours in the western parts of the Kingdom. Winds will be northwesterly and moderate in speed, becoming active at times.
On Tuesday, the weather will be cold across most regions, with some clouds at various altitudes, and winds will be northeasterly to northwesterly and moderate in speed.
A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Wednesday. The weather will be cold in most regions and relatively mild in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with clouds at medium and high altitudes. Winds will be southeasterly and moderate in speed, becoming active in the afternoon and raising dust in the Badia regions.
