US President Donald Trump on Sunday hinted at a breakthrough in Middle East negotiations, declaring that "ALL ARE ON BOARD FOR SOMETHING SPECIAL" on the eve of his meeting with ‘Israeli’ Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The highly-anticipated White House meeting with Netanyahu on Monday is expected to center on a proposed framework for ending the ongoing offensive in Gaza.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, the President used all capital letters to underscore his optimism for a resolution. "We have a real chance for GREATNESS IN THE MIDDLE EAST," Trump wrote. "ALL ARE ON BOARD FOR SOMETHING SPECIAL, FIRST TIME EVER. WE WILL GET IT DONE!!!"
While Trump did not provide details on the nature of the initiative, the statement follows reports that the US has been engaging in talks with Arab leaders.
Media reports said US officials hinted at a 21-point plan for Gaza’s future, shared with regional partners, suggesting current diplomacy aims at a broader, comprehensive deal.
However, Hamas refuted the circulating reports, saying that their talks over a ceasefire have paused since the ‘Israeli’ attack on Doha.
