AMMAN — Non-Jordanian visitors to Aqaba can now benefit from an exemption on departure visa fees under a new initiative launched by the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) in cooperation with Ayla Oasis, ASEZA announced on Monday.
Tourists arriving in Aqaba within 48 hours of entering the Kingdom will receive a departure fee exemption card, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported
Tourist will also enjoy the option to have their passports stamped directly on-site, simplifying entry procedures and enhancing the visitor experience from the moment they arrive.
ASEZA said that the initiative aims to attract more visitors to the Red Sea city and boost Aqaba’s position as a leading tourism and investment destination both regionally and internationally.
The measure falls within the ASEZA’s broader strategy to promote investment and support major tourism projects, aligning with its vision to position Aqaba as Jordan’s maritime gateway and a sustainable hub for tourism and investment.
Ayla Oasis Public Relations Director Mansour Kabariti said that easing entry procedures and removing visa fees are expected to boost Aqaba’s global competitiveness, attract visitors from new markets, stimulate the local economy, and encourage further investment in the tourism industry.
