JAF medical team arrives at South Gaza field hospital

AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army (JAF) said that Jordan Field Hospital South Gaza personnel arrived at the mission site on Tuesday to provide healthcare and mitigate human suffering in the Gaza Strip, continuing humanitarian efforts led by His Majesty King Abdullah.
 
The medical and administrative teams immediately began preparing clinics and medical facilities to receive patients in the coming days, ensuring the delivery of health services, according to a JAF statement.
 
The hospital includes a specialised medical and administrative staff covering general surgery, internal medicine, orthopaedics, general medicine, anaesthesia and intensive care, dermatology, vascular surgery, paediatric and neonatal surgery, gynaecology and obstetrics, emergency, maxillofacial surgery, and neurosurgery, in addition to a mobile prosthetic limb unit.
 
The Jordan Field Hospital South Gaza served 35,000 patients during its deployment, performed 668 major and minor surgeries and fitted 214 upper and lower prosthetic limbs.
 
Personnel from the Jordan Field Hospital South Gaza returned home on Wednesday after successfully completing their mission.
 
They were received by the head of the Social Support Department at the Directorate of Personnel Affairs.
 
On Tuesday, a JAF medical supply convoy of nine trucks arrived at the Khan Younis hospital to deliver essential medicines and medical supplies.
 
Jordan operates two field hospitals in Gaza, one in the north established in 2009 and the Khan Younis facility established in November 2023, alongside a hospital in Nablus, a land bridge for aid, a mobile bakery, the Restoring Hope Initiative for prosthetics, and medical evacuations to Kingdom hospitals.
