AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi on Saturday condemned the Iranian missile attacks on Jordanian territory, reiterating the Kingdom’s rejection of any aggression against its security.

During phone conversations with multiple counterparts, Safadi described the attacks as a "grave and unprovoked threat" to the safety of citizens and a clear violation of Jordan’s sovereignty, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

He stressed that the Kingdom is taking all necessary measures to protect its citizens, security, and sovereignty from these "unprovoked attacks". He noted that the strikes came despite Iran being fully aware of Jordan’s efforts to resolve the crisis peacefully and prevent the use of its land or airspace for any attack.

Safadi also reiterated Jordan’s full condemnation of the Iranian attacks on Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait, stressing the Kingdom’s unwavering solidarity with its brotherly countries. He reiterated that Jordan stands firmly alongside them in all measures to safeguard their security, stability, sovereignty, and the safety of their citizens.

The minister underlined Jordan’s commitment to working closely with regional and international partners to ease tensions, curb escalation, and strengthen security and stability in the region. He highlighted the importance of restraint and called for diplomatic engagement and dialogue as the proper channels to resolve crises, stressing respect for international law and state sovereignty as essential to maintaining regional peace.

Safadi conducted phone consultations with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Syria, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, and Indonesia, as well as with counterparts from Germany, Spain, the UK, Belgium, Sweden, France, Cyprus, Latvia, Luxembourg, Norway, and Austria.

During these discussions, the ministers reiterated their countries’ solidarity with Jordan, expressing support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to protect the safety of its citizens, its security, and its sovereignty.
