AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army (JAF) said it carried out a new airdrop operation on Thursday to deliver urgent food and humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip, as part of ongoing relief efforts for the war-torn enclave.
JAF said in a statement that the airdrop operation involved six military cargo planes: two from the Royal Jordanian Air Force, two from Germany, one from UAE, and one from Belgium. The planes dropped approximately 60 tonnes of aid supplies into the besieged territory.
Thursday’s airdrop brings the total number of operations conducted solely by Jordan to 144, in addition to 303 joint airdrops that have been carried out in coordination with international partners, JAF said.
It added that the airdrops conducted so far have delivered a total of 439 tonnes of humanitarian relief into Gaza since the resumption of aerial aid missions.
