AMMAN — The Eastern Military Region command on Thursday foiled an attempt to smuggle a quantity of narcotics carried by electronically-guided balloons within its area of responsibility, according to the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army (JAF) statement. Border guard units detected the balloons, intercepted and downed them along with their cargo inside Jordanian territory in coordination with the security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department. The seized items were referred to the competent authorities for further legal action.
