AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi reaffirmed the Kingdom’s “condemnation and rejection” of the Israeli aggression against Iran.

During a phone call on Friday with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Safadi condemned the recent Israeli attack on Iran, labelling it a “dangerous” escalation that violates international law and infringes upon Iran’s sovereignty, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

Araghchi expressed gratitude for Jordan’s clear position, acknowledging the Kingdom’s condemnation of the aggression and its rejection of actions that threaten regional stability and security.

The two top diplomats discussed the consequences of the aggression, with Safadi stressing the urgent need for collective efforts to de-escalate tensions and prevent the region from descending into a new conflict that could endanger both regional and global peace.

Safadi reiterated Jordan’s commitment to defending its sovereignty and security, emphasising that the Kingdom would not tolerate any violations of its airspace or threats to its citizens, the statement said.

“Jordan will not be a battlefield for anyone,” Safadi stressed , underscoring the Kingdom’s readiness to respond decisively to any such breaches.

Safadi said that this is “a firm position well known to both Israel and Iran.”

He also underlined the importance of addressing the root causes of regional instability, emphasising that true de-escalation can only be achieved by respecting the sovereignty of states and upholding international law.

He highlighted the central issue of the Palestinian people's rights, calling for the recognition of their right to security, freedom, and an independent, sovereign state within their historic homeland.
