AMMAN — Temperatures will rise slightly on Sunday, with cold weather prevailing in most areas and mild conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said on Saturday.
On Monday, temperatures will drop slightly, with generally sunny and cold weather across most regions, and mild conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.
Winds will be active, stirring dust in desert areas, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
By the early hours of Tuesday, the Kingdom will be affected by a “very” cold polar air mass associated with a low-pressure system centred over Cyprus.
A noticeable drop in temperatures is expected, with very cold, cloudy and rainy conditions prevailing across most areas.
Rainfall is forecast to be heavy at times and may be accompanied by thunderstorms and hail in some regions.
From the early morning hours, there will be a chance of snow flurries over high mountain peaks, at times mixed with rain, with a slight possibility of limited accumulation over the high southern mountains.
Winds will be active, with strong gusts at times, raising dust in desert areas.
Temperatures on Sunday are expected to range between 15°C and 5°C in Amman, and 24°C and 14°C in Aqaba.
