AMMAN — Shelter centres are an integral part of Jordan’s national risk management plans, Director of the Media Response Unit at the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM) Ahmad Nuaimat said on Sunday.
Nuaimat noted that these centres include facilities operated by the ministries of social development, youth, and awqaf, as well as designated shelter camps such as the one in Azraq, which was established to host individuals affected by natural disasters like earthquakes or floods.
He added that the centres are pre-identified across the Kingdom and are prepared to accommodate tourists or citizens who may be stranded during emergencies, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
As for the current circumstances, Nuaimat stressed that remaining indoors and following official safety advisories are sufficient measures at this time to ensure public safety.
