AMMAN — Minister of Government Communications Mohammad Momani on Saturday said that youth play a crucial role in professional interaction with decisions and policies, highlighting their objectives and goals, as the media seeks out distinguished programmes and efforts to shed light on.

Momani made his remarks during a dialogue session with young men and women representing the central region governorates and participating in the "Youth Leadership Preparation" training camps programme, organised by the All Jordan Youth Commission (AJYC) and attended by the ministry's Secretary General Zaid Nawaisah.

The minister stressed that Jordanian youth are a “promising and emerging generation who have achieved professional successes regionally amidst intense competitiveness,” the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Momani urged the youth to take the initiative and actively participate in workshops, courses, seminars and initiatives so that they can become a main component of public life and contribute to the exchange of knowledge, experiences and benefit from human experiences and leadership skills.

He added that youth represent the primary pillar of partisan life and the political modernisation project, noting that the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah and HRH Crown Prince Hussein consistently highlight the need to activate the role of youth in political parties and political life in all its details.

The minister underscored the role of political programmes within parties in activating youth participation in the electoral process, saying that media and information literacy is an important awareness tool for youth to benefit from in the public sphere, to distinguish between professional and unprofessional news, and to combat rumours, falsehoods, and misleading information.
