AMMAN — Bahrain’s King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa on Tuesday highlighted the “deep-rooted” and “distinguished” ties between Bahrain and Jordan.
Receiving Senate President Faisal Fayez and an accompanying delegation, currently on an official visit to Manama, King Hamad underlined the commitment of both leaderships to further bolstering bilateral cooperation to serve mutual interests, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Fayez conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah and HRH Crown Prince Hussein to King Hamad, wishing Bahrain continued security, stability, and prosperity under its leadership.
King Hamad welcomed the Senate president, noting the importance of such visits in supporting parliamentary cooperation and fraternal coordination on various regional issues, alongside the exchange of legislative expertise.
He praised the efforts of King Abdullah in enhancing Bahraini-Jordanian relations , commending Jordan's "honourable positions" towards Bahrain and its people, as well as its significant role in enhancing joint Arab action and supporting regional peace and stability.
The meeting also covered regional and international developments of mutual concern, foremost of which is the current situation in the region.
For his part, Fayez expressed his gratitude to King Hamad for the warm hospitality and his keenness to elevate the level of bilateral coordination across all fields.
Fayez reaffirmed Jordan’s solidarity with Bahrain, condemning Iranian aggressions and reiterating the Kingdom's full support for all measures Bahrain takes to protect its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
He emphasised that King Abdullah consistently underscores that the security and stability of Bahrain and the wider Gulf region are an integral part of Jordan’s own security.
“Our visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, at the invitation of the Shura Council chairman, comes within our shared commitment to advancing bilateral relations and opening new horizons for economic, investment, and parliamentary cooperation,” Fayez added.
He noted that the Jordan-Bahrain relationship serves as a model for fraternal ties based on mutual respect and shared interests.
