‘Israel’ preparing 'immediate first-stage implementation' of Trump’s plan, says PM’s office

'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced on Saturday that his government is preparing to implement the “first stage” of a plan proposed by US President Donald Trump to end the war in Gaza.

The announcement came after Hamas had responded to Trump's plan, calling for negotiations over its details after President Trump ordered an immediate halt to 'Israeli' airstrikes on Gaza to allow a prisoner exchange.

“In light of Hamas’s response, Israel is preparing for the immediate implementation of the first stage of the Trump plan for the release of all the hostages,” Netanyahu’s office said in a statement.

“We will continue to work in full cooperation with the President and his team to end the war in accordance with the principles set out by Israel, which align with President Trump’s vision,” the statement added.

Hamas has already said it is ready to release all 'Israeli' captives, living and deceased, according to the plan, contingent on the full withdrawal of 'Israeli' forces. Hamas expressed willingness to begin immediate talks with mediators to finalize the exchange.

Hamas also reiterated support for a transitional administration in Gaza, endorsing governance by a “body of independent Palestinian technocrats” formed through national consensus and backed by Arab and Islamic support.
