Early Monday morning, the Southern Military Zone thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics using two drones along its western front and within its area of responsibility.
A military source from the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army (JAF) said, “Border Guard forces in the Southern Military Zone, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, successfully foiled a drug smuggling attempt involving two drones that tried to cross the border.”
The source explained that the drones were detected, tracked, and engagement rules were applied, resulting in both being downed inside Jordanian territory. The seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities.
The source affirmed that the JAF remains committed to mobilizing all available resources and capabilities to prevent the infiltration of narcotics into the country and to safeguard national security.
