AMMAN — HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal on Wednesday visited the Politics and Society Institute and had a firsthand look its key achievements and research and intellectual programmes.
During the meeting, attended by a number of researchers, writers and leading intellectuals, Prince Hassan highlighted the importance of such an intellectual gathering, emphasising that a strong intellectual foundation serves as a crucial starting point for any development process, particularly within research centres and the formulation of public policies, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
He discussed the role of artificial intelligence and modern technologies in supporting scientific research, noting their potential application across various sectors, including agriculture, through the development of technical mechanisms that contribute to establishing a national farmers’ registry in Jordan, thereby enhancing planning efficiency and sustainability.
The prince emphasised the importance of solidarity among peoples, noting in this context that “a person stands by their fellow human being,” highlighting the humanitarian and ethical dimension of cooperation.
Speaking on youth, Prince Hassan highlighted the need to engage them in all dialogues, stressing the importance of moderation and complete objectivity in discussions, while underscoring that human capital is the foundation of any development or progress.
“It is important to direct such gatherings towards youth, ensuring they are grounded in honesty in dialogue and public service,” he said.
At the end of his visit, Prince Hassan toured the institute’s departments and reviewed its operations and research programmes, praising the institute’s role in fostering intellectual dialogue and research-based policymaking.
