AMMAN — Minister of State for Public Sector Development Badriyeh Balbeisi on Thursday attended the closing ceremony of the 15th cycle of the Civil Service Development Project for 2026, which graduated a new group of public sector employees.
The ceremony was organised by the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) and attended by KAFD Board of Trustees Chairman Haditha Khraisheh, British Ambassador to Jordan Philip Hall and representatives of public sector institutions.
Balbeisi said that investing in human resources, developing leadership skills and improving performance are essential to government modernisation and its success.
She highlighted the importance of enabling government leaders to think critically and analytically, formulate policies and influence others amid rapid global changes.
Addressing participants, Balbeisi urged them to return to their institutions with new perspectives and ideas, as well as new approaches to leading teams and addressing challenges.
Khraisheh said that the project was developed in line with the Public Sector Modernisation Roadmap, focusing on investing in human capabilities and equipping public sector employees with the knowledge and skills needed to perform their roles effectively.
He described developing national capabilities as a “key pillar” of the Kingdom’s modernisation efforts.
According to a KAFD statement, the project is implemented through specialised training programmes designed to develop skills, improve the institutional work environment and promote modern leadership concepts and performance-oriented practices.
The programme, delivered in cooperation with UK-based Inspirational Group, consists of three training phases.
Two phases are held in Jordan and focus on administrative skills, policy formulation and artificial intelligence tools for leaders, while the third is held at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the UK and focuses on leadership development through practical applications, decision-making and teamwork.
The project has previously conducted 14 training cycles, benefiting 337 employees, 147 of whom subsequently advanced to leadership positions, the statement said.
