The Jordan Times

AMMAN — A Jordanian citizen was killed and four others were injured in an attack by Yemen’s Houthi militia on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Sunday.

Ministry spokesperson Fouad Majali said the ministry, working through the Jordanian Embassy in Riyadh, was coordinating with Saudi authorities to ensure the injured received the necessary medical care and assistance.

The ministry is also arranging for the deceased’s body to be repatriated to Jordan, Majali said.

The Jordanian ambassador to Saudi Arabia visited the injured to check on their condition and assess their needs. Two of the injured had been discharged from the hospital, while two women remained hospitalized for treatment, according to the ministry.

The embassy will continue to monitor the women’s condition and provide them with the necessary assistance and support, Al-Majali added.

He reiterated Jordan’s condemnation of attacks by the Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed full solidarity with the kingdom and its support for measures taken to protect its security, stability, resources, and the safety of its citizens and residents.

Twelve people were killed and over 300 more were wounded in Saturday's missile attack targeting King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) in Riyadh, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announced early Sunday.

In a statement, cited by Arab News, GACA said the dead included four Saudi citizens as well as two Bangladeshi nationals, a Palestinian, a US citizen, an Egyptian, a Jordanian, a Syrian and a Sudanese. "The attack also left (309) others injured, including individuals in critical condition," the statement said.
