AMMAN — The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) has concluded its participation in the 2026 TTG Travel Experience, held in Rimini, Italy, from October 14 to 16, with the participation of 20 Jordanian tourism institutions and organisations.

The participation aimed to enhance Jordan’s presence in European markets, increase the number of Italian tourists visiting the Kingdom and promote its diverse tourism offerings, according to a JTB statement.

JTB Spokesperson Hani Dabbas said that the participation was an important step towards strengthening Jordan’s position in the European tourism market, particularly Italy.

He noted that JTB had held around 25 meetings with major tour operators, travel agents and Italian digital platforms to explore marketing partnerships and develop integrated tourism programmes showcasing Jordan’s diverse cultural, religious, nature-based and adventure tourism offerings.

JTB also organised a “Jordanian Night” event in Rimini, attended by more than 80 leading Italian tour operators, travel agents and media representatives.

The event aimed to highlight the latest developments in Jordan’s tourism sector, promote the Baptism Site and its significance for Christian religious tourism, showcase preparations for the 2,000th anniversary of the baptism of Jesus Christ in 2030, and highlight the national calendar of events and festivals as a means of diversifying the visitor experience and extending stays.

Dabbas said that 2030 presents a unique opportunity to establish Jordan as a leading destination for Christian religious tourism, given the Baptism Site’s historical and religious significance and its spiritual and cultural value worldwide.

He added that JTB is working with tourism sector partners to build on the outcomes of its participation and turn meetings into effective cooperation and marketing partnerships that attract more visitors, support tourism establishments and increase the sector’s contribution to the national economy.

The board’s participation coincided with an outdoor advertising campaign in Rimini, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote Jordan’s tourism brand and build long-term partnerships with the Italian tourism sector through 2027 and beyond, increase tourist arrivals and consolidate the Kingdom’s position as a safe and attractive destination.
