Crown Prince meets with France President

AMMAN — HRH Crown Prince Hussein, during a meeting with France President Emmanuel Macron at Élysée Palace on Wednesday, discussed the deep-rooted ties between Jordan and France, as well as the latest developments in the region.

 
The Crown Prince conveyed His Majesty’s greetings and appreciation to President Macron for France’s efforts to end the war on Gaza, and its role in mobilising international support for the recognition of the state of Palestine, according to a Royal Court statement.
 
The meeting covered ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation, as well as a review of existing partnerships.
 
His Royal Highness praised the strength of Jordanian-French relations, which span nearly eight decades, and commended France’s role in fostering partnerships between the private sectors of both countries, and its support to the Aqaba-Amman Water Desalination Project.
 
On regional developments, the Crown Prince reiterated the need for increased efforts to achieve calm in the region, as well as just and comprehensive peace on the basis of the two-state solution, which guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
 
His Royal Highness affirmed Jordan’s support for Syria and Lebanon’s efforts to maintain their stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
 
HRH Princess Rajwa Al Hussein and France’s First Lady Brigitte Macron attended part of the meeting.
 
The French president hosted an official luncheon in honour of the Crown Prince.
