Nine-truck medical convoy arrives at Jordanian field hospital in Khan Younis — JAF

The Jordan Times

AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) on Tuesday said that a medical supply convoy carrying medicines and medical supplies had arrived at the Jordanian Field Hospital in Khan Younis to support its ability to continue providing healthcare to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The convoy consisted of nine trucks, which were brought into the enclave and their cargo transported to the hospital in accordance with approved procedures and arrangements, ensuring the availability of essential medical supplies and the continued provision of medical and emergency services, according to a JAF statement.

The convoy is part of the JAF’s ongoing efforts to maintain the hospital’s readiness and support its medical and humanitarian mission amid the difficult humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, the statement said.

Jordan operates two military field hospitals in Gaza: one in the northern Strip, established in 2009 following the 2008 war, and another in Khan Younis, established in November 2023 amid the Israeli war on the tiny coastal enclave, which began on October 7, 2023.

JAF also established a Jordanian field hospital in Nablus in the occupied West Bank in late November 2023.

Other humanitarian programmes include the land bridge for aid delivery, the mobile bakery, the Restoring Hope Initiative, which provides prosthetics for amputees, and the evacuation of critical cases to Jordanian hospitals.
