German embassy to host first ‘Innovation Day’ Saturday

The Jordan Times

AMMAN — The German embassy on Saturday, marking 36 years of German unification, is scheduled to celebrate its first Innovation Day.

From 10am to 3pm schools and universities are invited to take part, according to an embassy statement.

By creating a dedicated space where young Jordanian makers, visionary researchers, and German-Jordanian partners converge, the embassy aims to turn imagination into reality, showcasing the technologies and initiatives that actively shape Jordan’s future.

The event mirrors the diversity of Jordan’s innovation ecosystem and the depth of German-Jordanian cooperation. Leading organisations such as GIZ, KfW Development Bank, and BGR will present pioneering work in digitalisation, water management, and vocational training.

The Future Skills Fund (FSF) will also highlight its efforts to equip young people with skills for a rapidly changing labour market, and the Crown Prince Foundation (CPF) will participate through three of its programmes: Al-Hussein Technical University (HTU) through its (9xAI) programme, which engages young talent in developing AI-powered solutions to real-world challenges using an applied innovation approach.

The College of Advanced Vocational Training (CAVT), which provides vocational training aligned with labour-market needs, and the Makerspace programme, CPF’s digital fabrication laboratory, featuring young innovators and their hands-on work in technology and fabrication.

The programme is rounded off with interactive workshops and tech activities designed to inspire the next generation of innovators.

This day is a “milestone” in a partnership spanning over seven decades. From the first water management projects in 1959 to the landmark 684 million-euro development package agreed upon in July 2026— besides 127 million euros in total to support the National Water Carrier— the bond between Germany and Jordan continues to evolve and strengthen.

In the afternoon, the public is invited to join.

Entry is limited and only possible upon registration via https://ticketberry.com/events/german-innovation-day, according to the statement.
