AMMAN — Around 1.5 million students on Sunday will return to schools across the Kingdom to begin the second semester of the current academic year.
Secretary General for Administrative and Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Education Sahar Shakhatrah said all preparations have been completed to receive students, including the provision of textbooks from the first day of the semester and ensuring classroom heating amid cold weather affecting most parts of the Kingdom.
Shakhatrah noted that about 1.5 million students will resume classes in 4,081 public and military culture schools, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
She added that the ministry will continue implementing the adjusted school start times in line with the decision to maintain daylight saving time.
Accordingly, the morning assembly will begin at 8:15am, with the first class starting at 8:30am. For afternoon shifts, the assembly will be held at 12:50pm, with classes starting at 1:00pm.
The adjusted schedule will remain in effect until the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
