AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces -Arab Army (JAF) on Wednesday began conducting the required medical examinations for individuals enlisted for National Service, distributing them across designated medical committees within the Kingdom’s geographic regions to facilitate procedures and save time and effort.
The head of JAF Directorate of Personnel Affairs/Mobilisation Division said that those enlisted were distributed across three regions, with specific military hospitals and medical centres assigned according to geographic division, until Tuesday, December 23, according to a JAF statement.
In the northern region, which includes the governorates of Irbid, Jerash, Ajloun, and Mafraq, examinations are being conducted at Prince Rashid Military Hospital in Irbid.
In the central region, which includes the capital Amman and the governorates of Zarqa, Madaba, and Balqa, Khaw Medical Centre, located next to the Military Recruitment Centre in Zarqa, was designated to receive those enlisted.
As for the southern region, due to long distances, it was divided between two military hospitals.
Individuals from Karak and Tafilah are examined at Prince Ali bin Al Hussein Military Hospital in Karak, while those from Maan and Aqaba are examined at Prince Hashem bin Abdullah II Military Hospital in Aqaba.
Meanwhile, the director of the medical committees and health insurance department said that those enlisted will undergo all prescribed stages of medical examination to assess their physical fitness.
He said that no specific recruitment medical grade will be issued, noting that individuals will be classified as either fit or unfit for service.
This organisational arrangement comes as part of the JAF’s efforts to facilitate the reception of those enlisted and ensure fair distribution across military medical facilities, enabling the swift completion of medical and administrative procedures.
It also reflects the importance placed on national service as a patriotic duty that strengthens values of belonging and responsibility among Jordanian youth.
