AMMAN — The Jordanian Islamic Advocacy Zakat Committee, in cooperation with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO), distributed 40,000 ready-to-eat meals over several phases, in addition to 26,500 bread packages in Gaza since the start of 2026.
The initiatives aimed at addressing critical needs amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
In an urgent response to the urgent water crisis, the relief teams supplied 1,500 cubic metres of safe fresh water to the affected families.
The field teams also carried out the distribution of 4,500 tarpaulins (shelter covers) to displaced families, with the aim of providing a level of protection from weather conditions, especially during periods of cold and rain.
These efforts come within an effective humanitarian partnership that reflects the commitment of the committee and JHCO to an urgent response and organised action based on numbers and actual needs, ensuring that support reaches those who deserve it and boosting the resilience of the people in the Gaza Strip.
Other humanitarian programmes implemented by the Kingdom in Gaza include the land bridge for aid delivery, the mobile bakery, the Restoring Hope Initiative, which provides prosthetics for amputees, and the evacuation of critical cases to Jordanian hospitals.
